About the team Configuration Management (CM)
The Configuration Management (CM) department manages, controls and administrates systems and products during the lifecycle of the product; Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The department also secures the integrity of the data in the systems, (e.g. Windchill). The department has strong interaction with Product Segments, Product Teams and Project Teams.
About your future job
In this position you will support the Manager Configuration Management by developing and implementing a vision on how the Configuration Management process and department can be improved and optimized. As Configuration Management Specialist / Improvement Manager CM you are the designated person to get the organization moving, challenge the management and support the CM colleagues in embracing a continuous improvement mindset to achieve our ambitions.
As a CM Specialist you are responsible for realizing improvement targets on output, unplanned losses and labor costs. through a culture of continuous improvement and by realizing sustainable results. You will be the link between the Thales Group, Configuration Management and CM community within Thales Naval. Beside the strong process improvement aspects, you are also the expert concerning the tooling and therefor the business partner towards the IT department. You master the processes and its implementation in the tooling.
The main tasks and responsibilities are:
- Support the Manager Configuration Management by improving the interaction between CM and the rest of the organization;
- Identify improvement opportunities or performance gaps, define, plan and implement the improvement actions, (e.g. training, maintenance, small modifications);
- Implement (new) standards and/or Group best practices and transform it in sustainable results;
- Set up, support or lead multi-functional project teams to address root causes identified, find sustainable solutions and implement them;
- Leading and coaching the CM team to continuously improve themselves.
Why you'd be a good match
- Has completed a bachelor or Master;
- Several years’ experience within Configuration Management;
- Proven experience with PLM software Windchill
- CM2 Certified;
- LSS Black belt preferred
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English;
- An improver with a clear vision of continuous improvement;
- Pro-active, pragmatic, accurate, results-oriented and strong analytical skills;
- Can change quickly, keeps an overview and setting priorities;
- Has leadership skills, lead the change.
