The Thales IAM Design and User Experience team is a collaborative and passionate team of user-centered designers and researchers who are making a positive impact on our user’s experiences. We love our users and their problems. We are on a mission to make our users' lives simpler.
As a User Experience Designer your work will help companies build trusted identities and access for their employees and customers. You will contribute to the design of experiences that meet user needs and business objectives. You will collaborate with your design teammates, UX leaders, business, product, and engineering stakeholders.
What will you be working on?
- Demonstrated product design skills including software development lifecycle, user-centered design, design thinking, design principles, heuristics, design testing, user feedback and iterative design.
- Contributes to the research and design of product user outcomes with user data but can use heuristics when user data is not available.
- Turns abstract ideas into representations at the right level of fidelity (sketches, journey maps, wire frames, visual designs, and prototypes) to get user feedback and align the product team.
- Mobile-first designer that creates adaptive and responsive product designs for workflows across mobile, tablet and desktop experiences.
- Contributes to cross-functional product team collaborations that create forward thinking ideas, innovative user experiences and intellectual capital that has a positive market outcome.
- Uses storytelling to align a product team to a shared product vision.
- Enjoys great design debates and iterating designs based on feedback.
What we are looking for
- Master’s degree or 2+ years of equivalent professional experience.
- Naturally curious with demonstrated excellence in critical thinking and tackling complex problems.
- Excellence in written and verbal communication skills, including user, product team and stakeholder interactions and presentations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced software development environment.
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating your user-centered design craft, visualizations of complex experiences, storytelling, sketches, mock-ups, prototypes, etc.
- Preferred: experience with Agile and SAFe processes and tools including refinement, estimation, Jira, Confluence, etc or a willingness to learn.
- EU nationality, or a valid work permit for the Netherlands.
